Getting Help
The first thing I expect you to do is follow any directions from class. The next thing is to look here for some help. If that's insufficient, feel free to ask me for some help. But: I need information. It's useless to tell me "it didn't work" or "I got an error of some kind." Tell me where you were, exactly, in the installation process and what exactly happened, including exactly what any error messages said.
In general...
- Read the directions.
- Reread the directions to ensure you followed every step properly.
- Ask a classmate who might know.
- If it's an installation error or computer error that pops up an error message, copy and paste the error message into a Google or Bing search box, enclose it in quotation marks, and hit "search". Look over the hits. If there are none, choose just part of the message and search for that.
- Ask your teacher for help. Check the home page for when I'm around, but feel free to stop by any time during the school day to see if I'm in the CS office or my classroom.
